Accra Daisies endured a difficult outing in Week 2 of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA) Senior Women’s T20 League, suffering back-to-back defeats against Accra Lilies and Accra Tulips on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
-DAISIES’ LOSS TO LILIES-
In the morning fixture, Accra Lilies secured a convincing six-wicket victory after winning the toss and electing to field first. Abigail Amuzu 9(7) and Evelyn Adu Frimpong 11(24) provided an encouraging start for the Daisies, as they reached 45/2 at the end of the powerplay.
Captain Joycelyn Mansa Ahama 10(27) attempted to steady the innings, but her resistance ended when she was adjudged lbw by Joyce Ayitera in the 12.2 overs.
The Daisies lost four more wickets thereafter but managed to post a total of 119 runs after 102 minutes at the crease.
Chasing 120, Accra Lilies, led by captain Jacqueline Kokam, composed of 30*(29), reached the target in 17 overs with four wickets to spare. Rachel Gadose starred with the ball, returning figures of 4.0-0-13-2 to earn the Player of the Match award.
-TULIPS ADDED SALT TO INJURY OF DAISIES-
The afternoon encounter brought further disappointment for the Daisies as they fell to a dominant Accra Tulips side. Once again losing the toss, the Daisies were put in to bat and struggled against disciplined bowling, managing 78 all out in 16.4 overs.
Abigail Amuzu, who had earlier retired hurt, returned to add 13 (25) in a brave effort.
Tulips captain Rebecca Adotei led from the front with the ball, claiming 3.0-0-12-3 to secure the Player of the Match accolade.
Accra Tulips cruised to a nine-wicket victory, losing only Christiana Manu 4(18), who was bowled by Sandra Adzokatse in the 3.3 overs.
Rebecca Adotei, 27 (31), and Anabelle Akosua Falaye, 13 (30), guided the Tulips to 79/1 in 11.4 overs, sealing the win in just 62 minutes.
After three matches, Accra Lilies sit top of the table with six points, while Accra Tulips follow with two points from two matches. Accra Daisies remain winless after three games and are yet to pick up a point.
Week 3 action on Saturday, January 10, will see Accra Tulips face Accra Lilies before taking on Accra Daisies later in the day.

The Women’s T20 League, also being played concurrently in the Ashanti and Central Regions, serves as a key pathway for selecting a formidable national team for future international assignments.
