Van Etten Women Clinch the Ashanti Region Women’s T20 2025-2026 League Title

Morning Match between Obuasi Ladies and Larry, the eliminator contest, proved to be a mouthwatering game. Obuasi Ladies haven’t found rhythm throughout the season, vouching to cause an upset much needed for them to book a spot in the final, while Larry Hill Women were confident to win, so it was a must-watch game.

Ellen, captain of Larry Hill, won the toss and asked Obuasi Ladies to bat. Elizabeth Annor and Evelyn Nobanie started the innings slowly, but the 1st wicket came in when the score was 11 runs in 3.3 overs, not being what they hoped for. Skipper Elizabeth grafted from one to 16 as she top-scored with 38 runs batting alone, holding the team together. They wrapped up on 79 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs

The second innings saw Larry Hill batters getting out in quick succession until seasoned senior player Serwaa put together a decisive partnership with in-batter Miriam Eshun to guide the chase, scoring 17 and 21, respectively. Elizabeth Annor troubled the chase by take critical wickets to finish with (4/18) and Emmanuella Abdulai (2/23)
Larry Hill Women got the last laugh, finishing 80 for 9 wickets in 14.5 to book a place in the final.

Log leaders Van Etten Women, after winning the toss, opted to bat first and put up a competitive score. Ellen and Stephanie walked to the crease and started briskly building up a partnership. They lost the first wicket in 3.1 overs with the score on 19 runs. Clusters of wickets kept chipping away as bowlers from Larry Hill stayed disciplined and hit the right areas, asking batters challenging questions. They folded up for 90 runs in 16.4 overs. Beatrice Oduro (13) and Ellen Asante (12) for Van Etten Women, whereas Miriam Eshun (4/19) and Olivia Adjei (3/13) to prevent further scoring.

For a chase, Larry Hill Women had all to play for with an asking rate of 4.55 per over, which seemed to be within reach. Miriam Eshun and Ivy Yeboah opened the batting, keeping the board ticking nicely. In over 3.2, Ivy was adjudged LBW when she tried playing around a straight ball from skipper Ellen with the score at 21. The setback continued when Kate Awuah, walking in at number 3, was immediately clean bowled from the first ball she faced by not troubling the scores. Miriam played the anchor role, and she also fell at 7.1 overs when Patricia Suglo took a catch off bowling from Fati Seidu with the scoreboard reading 35 runs. No batter went past double figures as they were all out for 53 in 11.1 overs. Miriam Eshun (15) and Olivia Adjei (5) were the highest contributors with the bat.
Ellen (4/17) and Seidu (3/11) were the pick of bowlers for the Champions.
