Accra, July 1 8, GNA— Mr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah Asare, President of the Ghana Cricket Association (GCA), has joined other global cricket leaders in Singapore to participate in the International Cricket Council (ICC) Annual Conference.

The four-day conference, which brings together representatives from over 108 member associations, focuses on strategies to grow the game with key discussions on the proposed two-tier Test system, the potential expansion of the T20 World Cup, and the inclusion of new member nations into the ICC fold.

Ghana’s participation highlights its strong commitment to the sport and its growing role in shaping the future of cricket on the global stage.

The conference also provides a valuable platform for member nations to share ideas, connect with international counterparts, and advocate for increased support and opportunities to develop the game at the grassroots level.

Speaking in an interview with GNA Sports, Mr. Asare described the GCA’s presence at the annual event as a clear testament to the sport’s growth in Ghana.

“We are here to learn, to contribute, and to advocate for the development of the game across emerging nations. The conference offers us the opportunity to raise our voice, share our challenges, and seek strategic partnerships that will help us grow the game from the grassroots to the elite level.”

He stated that the Association remains committed to strengthening Ghana’s domestic cricket league while empowering the national teams to achieve greater success and win more accolades.

The ICC annual conference is set to end on Sunday, 20th July 2025.
